About the film
After the death of Tsar Fyodor, power passes to his brother-in-law, Boris Godunov. But rumours say that Boris ordered the killing of the young Tsarevich Dmitry years before.
In a monastery, a young monk named Grigory hears the story and decides to become Dmitry. He escapes to Poland, gathers an army and marches on Moscow, and the Time of Troubles begins.
